news > 25 september 2005 London Vegan FestivalOn Sunday 25 September the eighth London Vegan Festival took place at Kensington Town Hall and attracted record crowds. 2,150 vegans, vegetarians and non-vegetarians attended the event which, at it`s peak, saw the foyer full to bursting! There were over seventy stalls from vegan companies to animal liberation groups, several speakers including an update on all of the major anti-vivisection campaigns, vegan nutrition and a talk by Vegan Campaigns entitled `Promoting Veganism` and films including Animal Liberation Frontline. There was a variety of food on offer from the ever popular Veggie`s burgers and vegan kebabs to the culinary delights of Africa to an amazing display of raw food and smoothies. Children had plenty to do with a play area, a fun food workshop and an art workshop which provided hours of fun. There was a cookery demonstration for adults where quiche, raw sushi, rice sushi and Chrissy's cream teas were made. If you would like a copy of the recipes email us. Entertainment was provided by `Kulah` mixing a blend of improvised folk in the European tradition and `Tracy Curtis` who mesmerized her audience with a selection of beautiful chords and well chosen words. All together it made for a truly inspiring day! The organisers would like to thank the sponsors and especially the volunteers who helped make the day such a great success.
