For many years British laboratories have held cowering animals for use in vicious experiments and now, the same as ever, the cruelty is just as hideous. Recent evidence shows primates being gassed in warfare tests, having their brains damaged in psychology experiments and the norm being to restrain these highly social animals for hours on end, whilst depriving them of food and water. All paid for using taxes.

Andre Menache from the Anti-Vivisection Coalition, will present a talk on a topical subject regarding animal research.

Throughout the day, we will be holding stall with details of animal experimentation, modern replacements and our brand-new petition regarding the use of animals in Universities for you to sign. AVC's Edmund, Sue and Sophie will be on hand at the stall to talk to anyone who'd like to know how to get involved. This is a great opportunity to have any questions answered and to learn more about what AVC will be up to in the coming months. Join the revolution!

AVC's Scientific Consultant Dr Andre Menache will be joined by Director of Communications Sophie Kennerley to present talks on the topic of animal experimentation:

• Dr Menache BSc (Hons) BVSC MRCVS will be talking about the link between curiosity-driven research, animal suffering and public funding. Dr Menache is an expert in the field of animal science and an esteemed voice against the use of animals in scientific, biomedical and chemical research.

 

• Sophie will be presenting the current scope of animal experimentation in the UK, an overview of modern replacement technologies and what AVC are doing to raise the public profile of animals in laboratories. She will also be outlining AVC's upcoming campaigns and how you can get involved.
