Beacon Life and Learning Centre

Bev Garside has been a vegan animal rights campaigner since 1980. She is the director of a training company Empower Support for the Voluntary Sector who deliver training and other services to the 3rd Sector.

Having seen a number of sanctuaries live from hand to mouth, largely mopping up after callous human beings who treat animals as little more than chattels she believes that the only way to bring about real change was through education.

The Beacon Life and Learning Centre is a response to these issues and a belief that compassion needs to be extended to all species. A sanctuary for farm animals combined with an education and training centre based on the principles of respect and which honours each individual’s  life journey regardless of their disadvantage and disability will bring about true and lasting change.

Bev’s daughter Ella, a Lifelong Vegan, together with her close friends Dave Callendar, Amanda and many others are working hard to make this dream a reality.
