This recipe comes from Pogo Cafe and is very popular there. Neary two hundred portions were also served on a veggie burger giveaway outside McDonalds. Serve it in a bun with cheeze, vegan mayo, a 'rasher' and lettuce and you have the Pogo punk burger. To make the burger a chilli burger just add 1 dssp of chilli powder.

Tofu Burger

8oz (225g) sunflower seeds
4oz (115g) pumpkin seeds
8oz (225g) breadcrumbs
pinch pepper
1 tsp fresh or dried garlic
1 tsp thyme
2 dssps veg bouillon
1/2 dssp marmite
4 x 8 oz (225g) pkts tofu**
2 dssps soya sauce

1. Blend the sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, breadcrumbs, pepper, garlic, thyme and veg bouillon in a processor, then transfer to a mixing bowl.

2. Blend the tofu, soya sauce and marmite then add to the dry mix and mix well with your hands.

3. Shape the burgers and fry in some oil.

**Do not use silken tofu or the mixture will come out too sloppy. If you use smoky tofu (which gives a delicious variation), the mixture may be too stiff, so replace 1 pkt of the smoky tofu with silken tofu to make it more moist.**
